Orang Utan ( Pongo Pygmaeus ) occur in Borneo and Sumatra mostly in lowland and swamp forest. Diet includes fruits, young leaves and insects.
Usually solitary, but youngs remain with mothers until 5 to 6 years of age. Semi-wild orang utan can be seen in natural forests of Sepilok Sandakan, Sabah and Semongok near Kuching in Sarawak.
